Description of the Project

After the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami hit Japan many from the damaged area worked together to reconstruct their hometown.

Six sake companies from Tohoku produced a new line of sparkling sake 'Rice Magic' in hope to stimulate the economy and spirits of the people of Tohoku.

The works of the well-known Swedish glass artist Ulrica Hydman Vallien were used on the packaging design. The two main colors on the design, red and black, represent Japan and its undefeatable spirit. The bottles can also be used as flower vases as memorials to the disaster.
